Kenya

As a part of my college, I did a overseas internship in a national park in Kenya; Hell's Gate National Park to be precize.
It was a dream come true. From April 4th to July 15th 2003 we stayed in Kenya, mostly in the Naivasha area.
We lived at Crayfish Camp, of which it was approximately 5 km to Hell's Gate NP. In both two areas we spend most of our time.
Ofcourse we did do some safari's to other national parks, including famous places as Nakuru, Masia Mara, the Aberdares
and Samburu. An unforgettable period and a love for Africa was born!

After college I decided I wanted to go back again. And we did! From July 9th to August 9th 2004
we were (for me again) in Kenya. Although we had to visit some of the places I had been the previous year (one would not skip
Masai Mara when in Kenya!), I also wanted to add a few pleaces I had not been before. The first week, we spend most of our time
around Naivasha again, visiting places like Lake Naivasha, Hell's Gate National Park, Lake Nakuru National Park and Crater Lake
Game Sanctuary. The second week we drove to the Central Highlands, visiting Nairobi National Park, Limuru Ponds,
Samburu National Reserve, Mount Kenya National Park and through Lake Bogoria and Lake Baringo back to Lake Naivasha.
Our third week we travelled south to visit Masai Mara National Reserve for a few days, including Kakamega Forest National Park
on our way back to Lake Naivasha. Our last week we drove all the way to Mombassa, to visit some coastal areas,
like Arabuko-Sokoke Forest, Mida Creek, Watamu Beach and the Sabaki River Mouth.
Hopefully the photo's show you just a fraction of the pleasure we had enjoying the wonders of this part of Africa!

From September 22nd until October 21st 2010 we made another trip to Africa.
We landed in Nairobi, Kenya, where we picked up our rental car and drove straight to Namanga border post to enter Tanzania.
We spend 26 days in Tanzania, before we re-entered Kenya and bird a few days at some familiar spots there.
All photo's of this holiday in Kenya and Tanzania are included in the subgallery "Kenya and Tanzania 2010, The Full Report",
but only the photo's taken in Kenya are added in the other subgalleries. The photo's taken in Tanzania are added in the different
subgalleries of the "Tanzanian-gallery".
In Kenya we only birded some places in the central highlands near Nyeri and the Aberdares with the last two days (again!) being at
Crayfish Camp, Naivasha, where we birded the lake. And have to say, it was good to be back...!

All photos in this gallery are also included in the “Photo Archive” gallery on the main page.
