Sunrise Crossing at Highway 21
Winter remains excellent for elk photography in Arkansas. This sunrise shot of a bull following a herd post rut is proof.
JYD at Beechwoods Cemetary
I suppose like many photographers, I never keep up with my post processing. I think this is a carry over from when I used to shoot slides, of course, that bad habit keeps me from doing the other half of photography, getting the image right in post processing. My folder of "images to do" contains old images, some forgotten. I found this one last night from 2010. I call this bull elk "junk yard dog". He has wonderful symmetry and a kind of hoop shape to his rack.
Crossing an Ozark Creek
This is a typical December elk shot. Long after the peak of the annual elk rut, I pretty much have the place to myself.

Prince, Classic Pose
Another view of the great one, just razor sharp.

Prince and Cow Elk in 2011 Rut
Easily the finest bull elk in the Ozarks. Prince is a super rare double drop tine typical atypical. Simple a splendid animal.
Crossing the Buffalo
A small satellite bull persuades a couple of cow elk to cross the Buffalo National River for some private time.
