Morrs Palmer and his canine companion 'Missy' led the morning walk through our favorite Southford Falls State Park trail. We didn't find great quantities of any mushroom, with the exception of Scleroderma critrinum, which can be found sprouting up along even the driest of paths at this time of year. Luckily we had had three inches of rain the week before and a couple of hours of drizzle the day prior to this walk, so we weren't dissapointed with the variety and quality of the specimens found. They included the following species of fungi:
