It was a cool windy day, but lots of warm new friends joined some regular COMA members for an educational fungi identification walk at Sylvan Glen Preserve. The new folks were very observant so we were able to find a number of small corals under the pines, as well as a few more spectacular fungi like a cluster of oysters which George managed to knock free from a wound high up in a shagbark hickory.
Dianna, you're a great guide. We had a terrific time. Even though it's the end of the season, I'll still be on the lookout from fungi on my frequent walks. Looking forward to spring with COMA.
