Probably, the most well known, and the real force that held the Impressionist movement together. A peerless plien air painter who struggled greatly throughout his lifetime within his creative vision. The name Monet is certainly at the top of the Impressionist list.
The painting above is of his first wife, Camille and their son, Jean, painted in about 1875. Another painting, resembling this one, was painted of his stepdaughter, Suzanne Hoschede, in about 1886. He collaborated with all of the emerging masters of the day.
