26-JAN-2004

26 January

She had an accident sometime today and the guilt has overcome her.
Here she lays beside the ignominous spot & spot remover.
She's getting old.

I guess it's difficult hold on for 14 or 15 hours anymore.
We can usually tell if something is wrong when we come in the door.
If she's been good she's right there at the door, literally bouncing & dancing til we get in & feed her.
When she's been in trouble - gotten into the trash or chewed something - she won't come out of the back room, even if we call.
It doesn't happen often (the bad behavior) she's usually responding to something that ticked her off (like if we don't say goodbye to her before we leave for the day).

But this was none of those things, this was old age changing her ability to hold on.
She's getting old . . . .

Poor pooch.
My dog waits until he hears the car door slam before he wets the kitchen floor.
It's always warm. Maybe he considers that his welcome home gift?

She's doing just fine . .back to her ol' self bouncing at the door. Thanks for all the good wishes for her. I'll have to make a "happy" picture of her one of the PaD's. /Pete ^_^

Poor old girl! Our 7 yr old female Lab mix has many of the same characteristics. Fortunately, she's able to hold it unless she has the squirts and (knock on wood) hasn't destroyed anything in years.

I see the same changes in my little girl, Dinkum. Took a picture of her the other day and my wife remarked, she looks like she's in heaven, looking down. Needless to say we were both near tears and Dink was peeved after getting smoothered in hugs. A great picture that tells the whole story.

ooooooooh it's ok doggie. I know how she feels. My cat has the same "issues" all you can do is give her love in the last years of her life. Like you said, she knows when she's done wrong, and sometimes the behavior is indeed triggered by stress. My rushing out of the apartment in the morning and not acknowleding her, or a maintenance guy coming in to fix something, and sometimes there are accidents, she is 13 and 1/2 years old. She's an old lady that needs to be respected and petted and loved. Don't you agree?

Yup . . .it's funny about doggie activities. When she was younger they really ticked me off, but it doesn't happen often thank goodness. Pets are funny; some of them actually know when they've done something that isn't going to be accepted well.

Is that the carpet spray cleaner I see? This is the norm in my house with Giz and Charlie. Awww, but what a face.

I guess the red container has something to do with 'doggy activities'?!
