Kyoto, Japan view map

Best viewed at "original" size

Nishiki Tenmangn Shrine is located at the back alley of the most busy shopping street in Kyoto.

I accidentally found this temple. The beautiful lanterns caught my eyes while I was looking for a toilet at that area.

The lanterns were contributed by people and/or shops.
By doing that, they wished their god to protect them.

If you don't say, I would preceive that the lanterns were used to make the toilets brighter and let the people know the ways to release their wastes. Any way, it is a very good shot !
