try Al Fresco Beach Resort in Matabungkay..the prices are reasonable, and the place is really nice..it's located in the quieter side of the beach, but still with a nice swimming beachfront..try going on a weekday, where you can have the whole place practically to yourself..

This resort called " Puerto del Sol " ..very nice resort a bit pricey... but the service and accomodation is superb,own restaurant with a wonderful chef, facing white sand beach... looking 4 to 5 hours drive just north of Alominos (hundred Island).... very nice place to visit for a get away.
Hi Kim, I can't for the life of me remember the name of this place. I do remember though that it is nowhere near Manila. It is very out of the way.
Places near Manila would have to be Batangas, Zambales and Bataan. They are all about 2-3 hours drive. Matabungkay Beach club is a very reasonable place in Batangas. If you go to Zambales, you will find a string of very affordable places to stay of the main road once you hit Iba. But my personal favourite is Montemar Beach resort in Bataan. Its a bit pricey during peak periods, ($100USD a night)but you can snap up a bargain during off peak.
