Tick

Turnbull NWR WA

best viewed in original

I picked up a hitch-hiker the other day at Turnbull when I was photographing flowers. Found him today dug into the top of my head. Myriam got a grip on him and pulled him out with part of my scalp attached. She was a little grossed out, but I had a photo opportunity.

Ouch! You'll do anything for a good photo op, Tom :)
Great close-up though...as close as I want to see one.

Those critters are not your friends. Hope you didn't make a pet out of that one. LOL
Nice shot of that nasty tick.
Best regards,
Dick:)

A nasty little creature, but nevertheless a wonder of nature.

Ouch!! Stopped on the roadside on the way to Seattle 3 weeks ago ended up with two of them. They seem bad this year . Glad to have none here around Edmonton.

Nasty little critters, glad he's here for the photo op and no longer on your head. Cool shot, Tom!

Very funny, Tom! That is your head??? I had one on me yesterday but found it almost immediately and before it bit me! P.S. Only kidding about that being your scalp!
