Makin' Hay

After a week of gorgeous weather there is lots of activity on the hay fields here.
I hadn't seen this form of rectangular cube production before. Most farmers
take their hay off in wrapped 'marshmallow'type bales.

You're right. You hardly ever see the square bales anymore. Neat farm scene.

Great scene - looks warm there, too - the guy has his shirt off!

They look huge. Is this some kind of winter growth being harvested? Guess I only rememer winter wheat.

Good rural image Cliff... too bright on the bales, but you know that.

Never seen this type of bale before, either. Ours are just rolled up hay roles. Nice catch!

Very nice, very interesting frame.

Beautiful scene Cliff. Your setting certainly has a range of fascinating things to photograph. And it is good to see that YOU are making hay while the sun shines PaD-wise, that is.

That is the first time I have ever seen marshmellows...i agree with you..the other ones were a beauty. I love how you captured the work of farm people. Very nice, reminds me of my childhood when we still were rolling hay the old fashion way, was a lot of fun, but also very hard work.

The first time I saw the marshmallows I was stunned-I couldn't believe they'd done something so ugly to hay bales, which are usually a thing of beauty.
That said, your photo is great. I love the mountain peaks in the background.
