I was working in Vancouver a short while back and decided to go for a run on my lunch break with my camera in hand - a fairly portable Canon S50 - and every time I would get tired, which was frequent, I would take a picture. I enjoyed it and this is one of my shots.
Yah...I have a CanonA300 that I throw in my purse, so I know the feeling of not having to lug a ton of camera equipment around. Now I've bought the Canon Digital Rebel and a boatload of lenses and hardly ever think about the Sony cameras and the Panasonic FZ-10..but I wonder what I'll do the next time I need to fly someplace...anyhow, nice compostion and keep on keepin' on...
I have a Nikon F70 with a 24-120 internal focus Nikor lens. It is capable of beautiful pictures but the whole apparatus seems to weigh about 5 lbs and I would definitely be slower than I am if I tried lugging this around on my run :o). I miss the features and interchangability of lenses with the SLR but it seems 'outweighed' by the portability of my new little digital camera. I take it everywhere!
Your picture is very powerful; the way the rail curves is repeated in the curve in the clouds and the line of the dock leading the eye to dead center .... and the color is very nice; cold and hard and distinctive. Do you use any kind of single lens reflex camera; if not, you should.
