This is the St John’s Memorial Hall. It was erected just before the Second World War for use by the YMCA, but was then used as a recreational venue for the Canadian Forces stationed at the nearby Inkerman Barracks. Of course since then, it has just been used for community events.
Sixty-five years on, it is in quite a poor state, and plans are now advanced for a replacement hall to be built in the village.
