December 3 2003:
Unavoidable

Home

It's probably just me, but it seems that the festive deocorations seem to even earlier this year. It appears that our workgroup is already set to be the last to put the decs up in the office and we've still got more than three weeks to go! Still, it is giving us a really good excuse for our daily photos and here's one I took about half hour before the defining midnight hour after a really enjoyable night out at the cinema watching "Love Actually", the best film I've seen for ages!

how did you manage this without getting YOU in it?? Unless I do a zoom in from across a room, I'm always obvious in the reflection =P

Wow - this is a killer shot, Ray! Love the abstract nature, the vivid colors, and the transparency you've captured so well here. Fantastic work!

Cool image – and thanks for the good review on the movie! Can't wait to see it with my sweetie. – Waynette

This is very interesting, and very cool. I really like it :)

A very fun shot. Looks like it's floating! And yes, the decorations are earlier...I too am guilty of that, it just seems so dreary weather wise, that it brings a bit of color, light and cheer to the home!

I know I'm a bit camera shy, but, no, this wasn't ever intended as a self-portrait. A number of 'roughs' showed the camera being reflected, but I felt this was just a distraction.

Yes, unavoidable. I'm in the 'no decorations until the week before' camp. Too bad the neighbors have decorated the outside of their house right by my office window! BTW, was this meant to be a self portrait?

Great idea - great shot - thank you

Neither. It is a Christmas bauble sitting on a light box which I use for studying my slides at close quarters. Glad you liked it.

interesting pic. Reflective beach ball or manipulated?
