Lamberhurst

Kent

A most attractive village with this beautiful hostelry. But how old is the Chequers Inn? Their own website says it can trace its origins back to 1137 but I doubt anything survives from then. Maybe parts from the 15th century are around, but at the end of the day you just want some nice beer, good company, and if you are staying there a comfy bed.
