Valletta Bus Station, Malta
The majority of buses on the island of Malta terminate here at Valletta's bus station which is built around the Triton Fountain at the entrance to the walled city which is restricted to too much traffic.
It is incredibly busy with vehicles manouvering in all directions, so a passenger's presence here is not for the faint-hearted as you try to find your bus. Stands only show the route number not the destination and are placed in a random order in a huge semi-circle surrounding the ornate fountain.
It's all going to change in 2011 with the island's bus services being rather like that of any other European city, so the charm will be lost, but bringing an improved service overall.
