14 September 2004:
I was walking up Guildford High Street today, and I heard music in my ears. It was a lovely, pure voice singing a lovely song; Paul Simon’s ‘Scarborough Fair’. I could not see a singer, but I was pretty sure it was not a CD playing, as the sound was unfamiliar.
Then I saw the singer. Sure it was not Art himself, although it was of course Art. In the form of Clare Mee. Clare is not your average street musician – she is a professional singer who exudes a fine quality from her larynx.
After a while, I went over to chat with Clare and seemed interested on what I was doing, and promised to show her my photographs of her – so here they are! I've taken one and given it a Duotone effect, and this can be seen in my Daily gallery HERE.
where you can hear her voice , find out how she gave tips to Badly Drawn Boy, and of course order her CD! But the bit I like is that she has opted for a job that she loves over other choices. How wise!
