The slight puffiness in her eyelid helped to identify Jennie who is with her mother.

The edges of this tintype were destroyed by simple age deterioration making for some interesting restoration decisions. I decided to use a portion of the background and duplicate it repeatedly in order to leave the craquelure of the original and create an "edge" for the photo. The frill on the edge of Isabella's dress was rebuilt from a very small portion that was almost intact. The lack of detail at the bottom and lower parts of the sides were left alone.
