My intent in drawing these plans was to come up with a mews that could be taken apart, moved and set up again in one day. The bottom pieces (ground contact) were initially going to be treated 4"x6" lumber, but after having seen some in ground contact "spring" as much as 5" I decided to go with more expensive but more stabile 4"x6" cedar lumber. 4"x4" cedar posts at the corners and across the top act as a framework into which the "interior" wall framework of 2"x4"s can be inserted and screwed into place. Hopefully this will make it easier to take apart in medium-sized pieces to move as the need arises. Simpson Strong-Ties will be used also as we are in hurricane country.

The footprint is 8'x10', limited by lot size and utility easements.

The slats on the top are simply 2x4s, spaced so that if the heat in summer gets too high I can slip more 2x4s inbetween and give 100% shade to the roof beneath.
