We spent 4 days in August to explore the Olympic Peninsula, WA. On the 1st day, we stayed at Forks, a small town that is fairly close to the Hoh Rain Forest. At the end of the day, I rushed to Rialto Beach to catch some sunset and was surprised to find out that the beach was mobbed by photographers. I had a hard time finding a spot to put down my tripod! It was a beautiful sunset, though, so it was worth it...On the 2nd day, we visited Solduc Hotspring and spent a couple of hours submerging ourselves in the warm mineral pools while a storm rolled overhead...The hike to the Solduc Falls was a short hike, but with two small kids it took us about 45min to get to the Falls...It was a magnificient view, I'll tell you...On the next day, we went to the Hurricane Ridge, which has about 5500 feet elevation, and took another short hike to get to the top of the ridge...The view was breath-taking. The kids enjoyed the hike, too, as we saw some squirrels and a deer in the meadow. On the last day, we stayed at lake Quinault and did some more hiking in the rain forest...
