Pfaltzgrafenstein Castle, built as a toll castle on the Falkenau island, otherwise known as Pfalz Island, in the middle of the Rhine,
one of the most beautifully located castles in the Rhineland. Dating originally from 1326, it was refurbished in the Baroque style
in the 17th and 18th centuries.
