Dedicated to St. Peter. A church has been on this site since around AD 700. Construction of the present-day High Gothic church began in 1273
and the cloisters were completed in 1538. Sections were renovated in Baroque style in the 17th century, a neo-Gothic restoration was commissioned
by King Ludwig I of Bavaria in 1821-1841, and the towers and spires built in 1859-1969. Overall, construction lasted some 600 years.
