Resurrection Gate, entrance to Red Square. (St. Basils Cathedral is visible through the right hand portal.)
This is an exact copy rebuilt in 1995 of the original gate dating from 1680, which was demolished in
1931 to make room for heavy military vehicles driving through Red Square during military parades.
Moscow City Hall is on the left. The small blue-domed building in front of the gate is the little
Iveron (Iberian) Chapel, originally built in 1669. Whenever the Tsar came to Moscow, he would visit
this chapel before entering the Kremlin.
