St Isaac's Cathedral, St Petersburg

One of the world’s largest cathedrals, designed in 1818. Thousands of wooden piles were sunk into
the marshy ground to support its weight of 300,000 tons and 48 huge columns. It was designated a
museum of atheism during the Soviet era, and officially it is still a museum today.

Looks more like a high-end government building than a cathedral, but it's beautiful.
