30 French style cottage

Melbourne, Australia

also known as Heide I

This is a former dairy farm on the Yarra River floodplain at Bulleen, a suburb of Melbourne,
which became known as Heide. It was bought by John and Sunday Reed and transformed
into a French provincial-style cottage. They formed a colony of young Australian artists.

Fascinating architectural style. I've never seen a layout like this and it's rather large for a cottage.

Lovely composition and great lines and detail on this beautiful cottage....not a small one, either!

Fine building, although pink is a bit 'girly' for us macho types, lol.

Quite famous in Australia! I like how you captured the blue flowering plant in the foreground Mieke.

I wonder which region in France these were based upon?
They look as if they would be cool for your climate. Chris
