A beautiful image alltogether! The graininess at the web size actually adds a lot of character to the picture. A superb point of view of Siena that includes foreground and background points of interest.

Re: Ross's comment concerning shutter speed and ISO. The answer is simple. I forgot to change the ISO after taking pictures inside Siena Cathedral where it is VERY dark ! My error ! One thing I continually realize about photography (and life in general) is that we learn from our mistakes !

why did you set the ISO and shutter speed so high ?

you might have been able to get away with a speed of 1/30 or 1/60 second and ISO 100 and then you could have avoided the 'noise' apparent in this photo.

you have some great images; but generally shot at speeds much faster that i thought would be necessary unless you were shooting from a moving vehicle.
