This is a spectacular "picture wing" fly that is also represented near this image (the one with the odd eye). Anyway, check out the wing. Kind of amazing, isn't it? BTW, this thing was huge...like the size of a moth.

I came across the same sort of fly, someone (a professional entomologist) identified it as some sort of Bee fly species (Bombyliidae) but he didn't know the exact type.
