Ken Martin

The instrument ( I played) was (and sometimes still is) the acoustic guitar. Bob Frank from East High School and I played for several years until he graduated and went to Vanderbilt in 1962. A lot of solo work after that – folk, traditional, and British & Irish ballads – I even played a jail once. I had two fraternity brothers at Virginia the were much better musicians than I was, but we managed to land a few jobs here and there, and of course, promptly drank up all of the profits.

Marriage, golf, work, and old cars have put a crimp in the playing, but I occasionally get motivated and dig out one of the guitars I have accumulated over the years and have at it.

Two side notes –

Bob Frank made a career in the music industry. He lives in California, still performs, and has 4 or 5 CD’s out.

Jim Cole, Burt Stegall, and I performed in the 1963 Talent Show.
