Memphis Central HS Concert Singers
I found this website today.
Just go there and play the music in the background while you're online.
Paula Stern at Memphis Fundraiser.
Just back in Washington after a fabulous trip to Memphis, the Delta, and Oxford. We had a huge nine hundred person dinner thursday night at at the Peabody to raise funds for the educational program my sister Margot Stern founded about thirty years ago and which is used in the Memphis School system. Featured at the dinner was a Facing History Student graduating from Central and her history teacher who received an award for his work. I am writing in response to your email because I thought you would be interesting in knowing that my son Gabriel Stern London is working on a documentary on Wikipedia.
Best regards.
Paula Stern
Note: There is an ongoing e-mail thread about Wikipedia and Central's being
in it.

Support the Wounded Troops
This is a response from Sue Dillard to our realizing that Walter Reed Hospital will not acknowledge items sent to unnamed wounded and ill servicemen).
Another or rather alternative to the cards to Walter Reed Hosp. is to go to
www.anysoldier.com
There you can go to the state you are interested in and find the real name and address (once you decide if you want to help that particular unit) of a unit and they will usually list specific needs, etc. Then go to the post office and get one or more of the flat rate boxes and fill them to capacity with things you have purchased for the unit. You are told not to expect a thank you but I received a beautiful thank you note and will certainly send more "goodies".
Also, I'm interested in the cruise if I can convince Helen Moore Maroon to go with me.

Charles C. King III was one of only two local bankers named members of Leaders in Banking Excellence, a program that recognizes an elite group representing Tennessee bankers who have excelled in the areas of banking, community service and civic involvement. The Tennessee Bankers Association recently honored them during a ceremony at the TBA’s new headquarters building in Nashville.

ALUMNI page
This is a reminder that we have an alumni page
http://www.centralwarriors.com/alumni.html trying to show information for CHS graduates of all years. We put people on this list only as they tell us to - different from our class's database.
We have only a few listed, but in fact got one more this weekend, prompting me to put in this entry in case others want to be listed there - only as much information as you tell me goes up.

Another of Leeba's Boys goes to Iraq.
Howard Curlin has been deployed to Iraq. You can get e-mail addresses of the servicemen related to our classmates

This is not the proper page for this, but I for one am really disappointed in the administration for which I voted twice. They have allowed the deficit to grow and their deep-pocketed friends to attain great riches. We're in Afghanistan looking for one bearded guy, letting the poppy field merchants continue to send their goods here. I guess we're not so much far superior to the Soviets when it comes to battling guerillas.

POSTCARD VIRUS
I got this one today and it’s real. Although I trust the person from whom I received it, the one thing I did was to NOT click on the link he sent me. I went to SNOPES and typed in some of the words – in this case ‘postcard virus’.
Bottom line on this – there’s a virus that can be spread when you open a link. This is the SNOPES link, safe enough to open but I’d suggest doing it my way
