Oops, above guest comment from Frances Bowden Smith-Hawley. I am sure most of my classmates can identify with this kind of behavior - ha, ha. :-)

Thanks soooo much for sharing. The pics of Mrs. Ball's homeroom always bring back one VERY vivid memory - the first day at Central in the auditorium when names are called for homeroom assignment. As many of you know, I did not go to one of the usual feeder junior high schools; I went to Longview and transferred in as did several others. So the only people I knew were the few from Longview and several from my years in Scouting. My name was one of the first called (Bowden). As I waited for the rest of the list, name after name of GIRLS names were called. Yes, they were/are very lovely (Sara, Lisa, Sarah, etc) but you know, it would have been SOOO nice to meet some nice guys in homeroom, also, especially since we kept our homerooms for all three years at Central. Thank goodness my classes were co-ed as that was important at that age or my Warrior stint would have been extremely short. This is still a vivid memory, almost 50 years later! Thanks to everyone, male and female who befriended me; it is such fun seeing you at the reunions.
