Hi Nicole, thanks (I'll pass the message on to Ernesto!).
What you can see are the bars to his cage. I was trying out my new macro lens and it manages to isolate the subject from other stuff around them. This shot was taken with the roof of the cage still on (he's quite a good jumper!).
