audre

audrebytes

just a quick pic of my new monster, Pooka
(Puca is gaelic for 'little goblin', in case you are wondering why we chose that name).
the shot isn't all that great technically but i just love her expression.

Pooka and i completely disagree on the benefits of the muzzle:
she not all that impressed, while i think it's the best $10 i spent all week! LOL

the liitle poop has a bit of an alpha-dog / aggression problem with our gentle old
mastiff, Sheila. this is probably why she ended up in a rescue kennel and was considered 'unadoptable'.
the good news is that she's exceptionally bright and very spirited.
she manages to be high energy/intense, without being spazzy
(basenji mixed with austrailian cattle dog; both known for their quirky, high energy natures)

i'm quite certain that after things settle she's going to be a wonderful companion
to both the human and dog members of our family.

rescuing Pooka has gone a long way toward helping me out of my slump after losing Bailey.
Pooka's antics keep me not only busy, but laughing, even while i'm rushing around like a
panic-struck chicken trying to avert the next 'pooka-catastrophe' from happening.
it should be no surprise that one of her nicknames is already 'Pooka-Bazooka'. :-)

I hope all works out well with her Audre! Good for you for taking her on. We've got a couple of dog rescues too, and they've turned out to be the best dogs we've had.

It looks in her eyes like she's a little sad - about the muzzle I suppose. Nice capture. And good luck with her. I hope she adpats quickly for you. Look forward to seeing a happy (muzzleless?) portrait of her in the future.
