The Man Who Fell to Earth

This is a series inspired by the masterpiece galleries of Chuck Inglefield (Urban Melancholy) and Lawrence Ripsher (Modern City Living). As an American living in Montreal, Quebec one can feel a bit alienated. This is not the fault of Montreal or Quebec, but only a common consequence of differences in culture, language and lifestyle. It has had the effect of my feeling, at times, like a stranger in a strange land or (to use a film reference for those familiar with Nicolas Roeg's 1976 film) a bit like "The Man Who Fell to Earth." This series is an attempt to capture that unique, existential feeling associated with living in a foreign land . . . or like David Bowie's alien character falling to earth and stumbling through a maze of bewildering experiences. ** Special note: The series will not necessarily be particular to Quebec, but will follow a more universal theme of existence in modern society as it might be seen through the eyes of an alien, be that an immigrant or someone from another planet. :-)
