I believe Steve is right. I was just about to take a punt on Newton.

Beautiful softness and meaning

Wait, it's not Claude Rains. It's Ray Petit (http://www.pbase.com/image/65631860 )!!!
Ray Rebortira24-Aug-2006 03:41
Sir Isaac? I thought it was Claude Rains without the gendarme's hat!

Nice shot Craig, LOL at Ray (although I may have been lurking in the background when this was taken!). As far as I remember this is Sir Isaac Newton. This is the chapel of Trinity College Cambridge, where he was a fellow I think. The words in the background are from the memorial to the members of the college killed in WW1.

LOL @ JD's comment, and I agree with him!

An expressive statue, being captured and made even more compelling by your wonderful control of light, tone and focus. I kept looking at his eyes and trying to figure out those characters at the backdrop, perhaps his train of thought. And I'm now curious to find out who he's...

aww! V.
Guest 23-Aug-2006 01:57
A superior man, no doubt! Who connects to superior things, and not basic ones. Excellent DOF & treatment, which ever comes first ;-)

Laine - are you suggesting it's Steve H :-)
Guest 23-Aug-2006 00:13
LOL! at laine's comment. But that's true.
I too like the composition and lighting, and the POV too. Your treatment works very well, as always.
