Visitors young and old at Andrew Haydon Park learn valuable nature lessons. They learn about the wide variety of animals who call this park their home including geese, a variety of ducks, beavers, muskrats, groundhogs, Herons, Otters etc.
Vistors learn about what foods are good for each type of animal, about the various types of homes and or the behaviours of the animals.
People are taught how removing branches etc can cause harm for these animals and that also removing certain wildlife such as frogs or turtles also cause harm for some of the plants and animlals.
People are taught how to protect both themselves and the wildlife.
For many the opportunity to get close to these animals has provided a dramatic change in the person's behaviour and or additude.
Many visitors now can be found coming to the park with their supply of food for the animals. Like anything else visitors are encouraged to wash their hands after feeding the animals.
