This was only the third Hogmanay that I haven't worked since 1977!
The first was back in 1988 and I started partying about midday! needless to say I didn't last much after midnight and I had to be carried home and put to bed!
The second was last year and we decided to go away it turned out to be a total disaster. The chef in the hotel we stayed had been partying all afternoon and was well pissed! the food left a lot to be desired. The entertainment promised never turned up. The owners who were new to the catering game were a bit stressed out (to say the least!) and never once wished us a happy new year! The journey home was interesting! lots of snow on the road with not a plough to be seen.
