This was taken somtime during the 1930's I've only seen it this high once before in the 1980's. The river Dunlain takes it's name from the Gaelic Tuil To flood or spate, it has a tedency to rise very fast but also drops very fast and does not stay at this height for long. Thie bridge was built in 1717 by a John Nicholson to join the the two halfs of the parish together. The Church and graveyard were on the north side and because of the rivers tendency to "spate" several funerals had to be postponed this was the reason for building the bridge at the Linn of Dalrachny.
