He's Back!

It seems that snowy weather brings in the Cooper's hawk. Last time he came in it was snowing hard, too. I really like this pose since it shows many of the Cooper's characteristics. There is the dark gray cap which contrasts with the light nape. It also looks like he has a slight crest in back. You can also see the white on the tip of the tail. The skinny legs show up well, too. I've had lots of people who have been giving me advice as to how to differentiate between a sharpshin and Cooper's hawk. He didn't catch anything at the feeders, by the way.

Excellent shot - looks "cool" in the snow.
