Coopers Hawk Spotting Prey

While all my other accipter images were taken at home when the bird came in to check out the food supply at the feeders, this image was taken at the Beaver Lake Nature Center. I had gone to see the screech owl, but that never materialized. Instead, this large Cooper's hawk swooped in near the feeders, again, looking for a meal. Unfortunately I was never able to get an unobstructed shot of it. I like this one a lot because its spotted something and turning to get a better look. It's a view of the bird that I rarely get to see. He stayed for a long time and tried to catch a meal at least twice. It finally went to a large evergreen to keep an eye on the feeders.
