Karatepe: Oct 07

Most of the photos are from the summer palace of King Azatiwatis. He ruled over the Adana plain to the west in the 8th centurty. The site is very important because of the writings in Phoenician and Hittite. This allowed the Hittite language to finally be translated in the 1900s. Bob and I enjoyed the site because of all the greenery lining the paths. We felt like we could have been back at in the US at a State Park.
