This statue was innaugurated on June 12, 1998 at the Rizal Park/Luneta in time for the Philippine Centennial
Independence Day Celebrations and is made by famed Philippine sculptor Eduardo Castrillo http://www.eduardocastrillo.com/ .

In its base is a time capsule containing the papers of the day, regular stuff familiar to us today -
to be opened again, perhaps, on the 200th Anniversary as our legacy to future generations?
