I am from Meridian, Ms. My Uncle, James McLaurin Harrison(Mack) may be in this picture. He was on the Indianapolis when he was Lost at Sea after the Japanese bombed it. If he is, I wish I could pick him out. I know this is just some of the many that were on the Indianapolis.
This week I am going to Indiana to see the USS Indianapolis Memorial and go to the War Memorial there. This is something I have already wanted to do.
I am 62 years old and I wasn't born when Uncle Mack was killed but I feel I know him from all the memories of my Mother and other family memories.
Thank you for keeping the memories of so many, alive and I lift up prayers and gratitude to the survivors!
