We had a clear dark sky on our first night on the Milford Trail.

Due to the long period of daylight, I had to wait to around 10:00 for the sky to be dark enough
to see all the stars around us.

The Southern Cross is in the large group of star at the top of the picture.

We saw the familiar constellation Orion, but it was flipped around with the red giant star, Betelgeuse, on the bottom of the constellation.
