Before heading down the coast for an overnight trip, I thought I'd give that B&W look a try again in the kitchen. Gotta love the look of this stove. I used the Tri-X action in Jeanne's PS CS.

Nikon D70 ,Nikkor 50mm f/1.8 AF
1/5s f/4.5 at 50.0mm iso200 full exif

other sizes: small medium original auto

This is excellent ... well into the genre. Glad to see you are having a bit of the hair of the dog that bit you!
And Tri-X action ... where did she download that from? I'd like to try it.

This came out very nice. White whites and black blacks with all the grays in between.

Were ya going for the sexy pose, Mark? you achieved it if so.. very very nice. I do like the good contrast between black and greys and whites as lou said. I don't know what the tri-x is but, I'm glad i'm getting CS soon..

There is an extremely good contrast between high's and shades in this one, Mark. A real Black and White the way we knew it at our Tri X times.

Love the shot -- and it does look like the Tri-X that I used to shoot all the time (in my ancient Nikkormat) -- but what does the action do? Is it just a special way to do the desaturation and sharpening? Is it a CS only action? (Haven't upgraded to CS yet, since I have PS, Illustrator, InDesign, etc. and am reluctant to spend the $$ for the full suite upgrade, i.e., I'm a cheapskate.)
