Washington Summer Sings!
This is my friend Kathy at tonight's "Summer Sing." For five Tuesday nights in the summer the New Dominion Chorale hosts sing-a-longs of choral masterworks (mostly Requiems). Tonight was Mozart's Requiem. About 150 or so people showed up for tonight's Sing led by J. Reilly Lewis of the Cathedral Choral Society. About 1 hour of "rehearsal", then a break for cookies and brownies, then a straight sing through the whole piece with soloists and a pianist for the orchestra. It's always fun. Tonight people from at least four countries (Netherlands, England, Germany, and of course the US) were there, representing about 15 or more different choruses. It's neat to get to sing (or fumble through) these pieces and see a bit of the directing style of the areas top choral conductors.
I could not remember how to set the SB-800 to receive signals from the on-camera flash nor find it quickly enough in the manual to do any better in terms of flash than point blank from on-camera.
