28th February

I just had a panic! I realised that I hadn't shot an image for today's PAD. Seems this PAD malarky requires serious self-motivation. I've had a rather lazy day so far - I fell asleep for 2 hours at lunch time and have done little since. I decided to photograph 2 colourful shower gel bottles against a white backdrop but after checking the images I decided they didn't have the feel I was after. I was just atarting to worry that I was running out of natural light to shoot something when I spotted my mini Slinky sat on the table from a previous still life attempt (see here: http://www.pbase.com/britishbeef/still_life ). I placed a black sheet of craft paper underneath and behind and shot this image. I converted it to black and white which looked OK but I like the subtle colour in the reflections in the metal.

great! I too like the subtle color in the reflection. Very simple and elegant. I was wondering too, how did you get your name and banner at the top of your gallery pages? thanks-
Kelly

This works very well Geoff, just enough detail in the near shadows. Nice shot.
