Rock, East of Sedona

After a very long day when took me from Oak Creek Canyon and the Soldier Pass Trail, I hurried to
one of my favorite sunset locations, Schnebly Hill Road. I really wasn't expecting to make it by
sunset, by noticed that if I hurried I would make it within minutes of sunset. Coming to a
location I had scouted out earlier, I was stunned to see just how intense the setting sunlight
was on the red rocks. Perhaps it's the contrast against the blue sky, but the red in this
photograph was really like it was like at the time. While most of the time I tweak my images with
some saturation enhancement and contrast adjustments - this photograph didn't require any at tall.
While sunset on the red rocks of Sedona is always spectacular, this image would not stand without
the beautiful sky.

Now I know where the Sphinx builders got their inspiration from. It stood there centuries before... so powerful, strong attendance. And you were just there to capture the moment.
