When you find yourself shooting the same type of subject matter no matter where you are, would you call it a Ďrutí, or the development of a Ďthemeí?? I ask this because Iíve noticed that over the past year Iíve taken a _lot_ of pictures of solo tree trunks against sandstone walls. Perhaps itís the symmetry and power of the hard lines of the trunk against the chaotic sandstone patterns, perhaps the textural and physical contrasts between animate and inanimate forms, perhaps Iím just in a rut. Anyway, I love this image, and the hundreds like it which are starting to fill my archives. Perhaps Iíll put together a gallery just of tree trunks in the near futureÖwho knows!
