Evening is an interesting time at Bryce Canyon. As the sun sets toward the west, much of the canyon falls into shadow – with only a select few areas receiving much sunlight late in the day. My favorite location, the Thor’s Hammer Amphitheater, falls completely into shadow in the late afternoon / early evening, making it one of the less attractive places to be at this time. This day, I was interested in taking a panorama with Thor’s Hammer in silhouette…the moon was in a favorable position to be included in the composition; this was the result. I used three vertical images to create this panorama.
