umm... the argentines were forcibly kicked out of the islands in 1833. they would have loved to stay and settle and "take care" of the islands. british presence in the malvinas is truly something insulting to international law.

What lovely photographs from a beautiful part of the United Kingdom. Just hope it can stay that way. If the Argentinians loved it so much they should have stayed and made it their home the first time they had it. Britian has loved and maintained the island for almost 200 years now - Argentina is only greedy for its oil.

Hello, everyone! I am Argentinian living in the City of Buenos Aires, and I am currently arranging my trip to the Falkland Islands in January-February 2012. I reckon that the isles are beautiful and I'm really excited about visiting them. I feel sorry for the teenage lads who died in the war in 1982, which, by the way, I believe that it was an unnecesary war. In my personal case, I am not interested as an Argentine citizen in saying "Argentina is the owner of the Isles Malvinas" for I believe that what makes a people nice, a nation, is the persons inside not the territories it has. It's not a matter of being more or less powerful for possessing or not overseas territory.

Es una verguenza mundial que en el año 2011, exista el colonialismo.
Siento verguenza por el reino unido.

I was fortunate enough to spend quite some time out there.it is very cold their are lots of sheep and the islanders are all wonderful people. I was in the royal logistic corp and flew out there in September to do a military training program. I had no idea how baron the land is in some places it's almost impossible to walk on. I also visited the museum which is fantastic a very realistic brief history into the falkland island. I would love to revisit and I would encorage any one who don't know a out the falkland you won't be dissapointed.

Los archipielagos de las Islas Malvinas, Georgias y Sanwich del Sur pertenecieron, pertenecen y perteneceran geogràfica e històricamente al Teritorio Nacional Argentino.

Hi, I live in England and I really want to go to the falklands, not only because it looks amazing, but i love the name. This is British Territory and thats how it will remain, no matter how much you argentines want the oil there... besides, it was the British sailors to be the first people to live and set foot on the Falklands, so it makes sense for it to be British :)

People from Argentine is a very good people, and that crazyness of General Galtiere does not mean what that people thinks about the Islands and there way to rock them all. Any how, if the people from the Island wants to be British, let them be British as they want, because this is liberty of expresion and people from Argentine must respect that.

Hi, this is a pleasure to greet them from Corrientes, Argentina. My name is Leonardo and I am amazed with the scenery of the island. I am eager to know their culture and to hear from you. See you son.

How do they get the few trees to grow in Stanley? It must be difficult.

God damn you pirats that land belonds to argentina and it always will no matter what. One day I (wont say my name) will get that land back to the country that it belongs even if I have to kill thousands of people , torture and murder.

Terrific - I can see the cathedral where grandparents married in 1908.
