Looking up at the Mesa

Los Alamos Area

Gayle and I are in the Los Alamos area today. Looking up at the mesa that we are going to climb. A great hike even if it was a little cold when we reached the top and were exposed to the full force of the wind. We had snow this morning and bright sunshine this afternoon. The tempeture hung around 32 degrees in the afternoon. Low tonight calls for 19. For more shots of today go to http://www.pbase.com/bre/gallery/new_mexico .

Excellent use of light here Bre to get the definition of the rocky face.

Gorgeous capture of the sandstone against the bright blue sky. It doesn't look cold but looks are deceiving.

So nice. Crisp clear winter days in New Mexico. Accentuated colors!!! You two have fun :)

Very nice color and composition. Like the shadows that define the rock. The gallery of the trip has a good start as well. Nice images in there too.

This looks too warm to be cold...but I'll take your word for it...sounds good since I'm melting in 38 celsius :>)

Loks like you guys are having a great time, and you certainly got some good shots. I've enjoyed seeing them.

There is something about the cold crisp air that really makes winter shots pop, when there is color available. A perfect example here, Bre.

Gorgeous. It is so pretty in New Mexico and you captured it well.

Hi Breland,
Can't tell from the shot just how high this might be. Did you climb a trail or go up and over the the face?
It looks warm!
